PUERTO RICO SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Shipper’s Export Declaration (SEDs) Filing
U.S. Census September 4th, 2008 Adjustment

Dear Valued Customer:

The U.S. Census Bureau has determined that shipments between Puerto Rico and the United States are exempt from filing 24 hours in advance to cargo loading. Shipper’s Export information (ex. ITN#, exemption statement, or complete SED data) must now be provided to the carrier prior to vessel departure. The adjustment by the U.S. Census concerning time frames has allowed us to adjust our documentation cut-offs as follows:

North America Terminals: (Elizabeth, NJ, Jacksonville, FL and Houston, TX)

SED information or ITN# will need to be submitted by 2:00 PM local time, day of sailing, via email (puertoricodoc@horizonlines.com) or fax (877-866-7121). Loads arriving after 2:00 PM that do not have SED information submitted will not be guaranteed to make the intended vessel.

San Juan, Puerto Rico Terminal:

The New Northbound Documentation process will no longer be implemented. SED information will need to be submitted by 5:00 PM local time, day of sailing. We will continue to receive paperwork at the terminal with the arrival of the outbound load or via email (sjudoc@horizonlines.com) or fax (787-620-6676). Please ensure that paperwork contains SED information to allow loads to be released to the vessel. Loads arriving after 5:00 PM local time will need documents submitted prior to cargo arrival. Loads arriving after 5:00 PM without SED information submitted prior to cargo arrival will not be guaranteed to make the intended vessel.
