PUERTO RICO SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Service Update: Houston, TX and Jacksonville, FL Terminals

Dear Valued Customer:

We would like to provide an update on port operations in Houston, TX and Jacksonville, FL terminals.

• Houston, TX: APM Terminals has just notified Horizon Lines that they are closing gate operations for the remainder of the day, Wednesday, September 3rd. Gate operations are scheduled to resume their normal hours, starting at 7:00 AM CDT tomorrow Thursday,
September 4th, 2008.

• Jacksonville, FL: Horizon Lines is meeting regularly with JAXPORT and U.S. Coast Guard officials to assess the track and possible impacts of Tropical Storm Hanna. At present, we do not expect any impact to terminal operations this week.
