PUERTO RICO SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Bunker Fuel Surcharge – Effective January 18th, 2009

Dear Valued Customer:

Horizon Lines has been closely monitoring the bunker fuel markets over the last month and is decreasing the Bunker Surcharge in accordance with recent trends.

For containers being loaded or discharged in Jacksonville, FL or Port Everglades, FL a bunker surcharge of $290 per container will be in effect starting January 18th, 2009.

For containers being loaded or discharged in Elizabeth, NJ a bunker surcharge of $380 per container will be in effect starting January 18th, 2009.

For containers being loaded or discharged in Houston, TX a bunker surcharge of $415 per container will be in effect starting January 18th, 2009.

We will continue to monitor fuel prices and will announce any changes to next month’s Bunker Surcharges on Friday, February 6th.
