Caribbean Cold Storage and Shipping help sponsor “Faces of the Port.”
February 01, 2006 – Caribbean Cold Storage and Shipping takes an active role in the unveiling and presentation of “Faces of the port” in the new downtown library.
Jaxport and the Jacksonville Public Library unveiled a new photography exhibit – called “Faces of the Port.” This exhibit features a black and white study of the day-to-day activities of CSS and many other companies. CSS is vital to the port’s survival and also to the many companies that depend on it everyday for specific deliveries. At this exhibit, Jaxport was able to humanize CSS’ impact to the city and show the viewer the faces of those whose livelihoods depend on it.
Ron Baker, Deputy Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer at the Jacksonville Port Authority said, “Faces of the port is a symbol of this vision providing a snapshot of the tremendous work carried out by thousands of people every day at the port. In fact, more than 7,000 people work for dozens of private companies in the local maritime industry, and thousands more work throughout the city in support of the port. Faces of the port is designed to capture the scope and essence of this important work.”
The Jacksonville Port Authority (Jaxport) is a full service international trade seaport in Northeast Florida.
