Jones Act waiver for oil ends

The temporary waiver of the Jones Act for the transportation of petroleum and petroleum products ended at 12:01 a.m. ET Monday, according to Customs and Border Protection.

The waiver, which was granted Sept. 1 in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, remains in effect for the transport of petroleum released from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

No other provisions of U.S. cabotage laws have been waived.
