TRAILER BRIDGE LANDS COSTCO’S PUERTO RICO BUSINESS
February 18, 2008

Costco Wholesale Corp. has awarded Trailer Bridge an exclusive contract for all shipments moving in dry containers to Puerto Rico, the Jacksonville, Fla.-based carrier announced recently. The contract represents new business for Trailer Bridge except for a small number of trial shipments that started in mid-2007. Costco operates a large chain of membership warehouses, including four in Puerto Rico.

Shipments under the new contract are anticipated to commence in April. The expected overall revenue is confidential under the terms of the contract but the container shipments are initially predicted to be approximately 5 percent of Trailer Bridge’s southbound container volume. The multi-year contract will bring Trailer Bridge volume that it forecasts to increase over that time based upon the historical relative growth of Costco in the Puerto Rico market.
